What mainly makes the difference between a psychiatrist and a therapist is the medicinal approach.

  • Psychiatrist holds a bachelor's degree in general medicine and a master's degree in psychology which allows them to prescribe medication if needed and use the rest of psychology methods like DBT, CBT, ... etc.

  • Psychiatrist focuses on organic and psychological symptoms in diagnosed cases."

  • The therapist holds a bachelor's degree in psychology but does not allow him to prescribe medications.

  • The therapist focuses on providing psychotherapy (talk therapy) in the diagnosis using all methods like DBT, CBT, ... etc..".
